  • Dr. J. Chris Mixon, Veterinarian

A 1996 graduate of the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Mixon moved to Newtown from his private practice in Orlando, Florida, where he cared for small animals for nine years. In January 2006, he purchased Newtown Animal Clinic, which he renamed Newtown Veterinary Center in January, 2008. He served as the veterinarian on the medical team for the 2005 ESPN Great Outdoor Games. A firm believer in the importance of continuing education, Dr. Mixon is a devoted reader of professional publications. He also stays abreast of advances in veterinary medicine by attending professional conferences.

When he's not caring for his patients and their owners, or learning more about the latest medical and surgical techniques, Dr. Mixon is a proud father of two wonderful children. He is also an avid football fan and ardent supporter of his Alma Mater's team (Go Gators!) He also enjoys travel, snow skiing and playing the guitar and drums.
